Can you build muscle to burn fat?
I am now being helped by an ex body builder. She says that I can build muscle to burn fat and I shouldn’t worry about what I eat because we work it off. Due to having found out I have scoliosis, we cannot do it as vigorously because it hurts.
I have mixed feelings about what she says and am unsure if what she is doing is working. It has been a month and I feel no different, other than bigger….does this really work? Should I add a cardio? Help.

"you need to lose fat to build muscle.
its easier to do allot of cardio to burn off the fat
and do some weight training to build the muscle
because if you start building muscle under the fat you might end up looking squarish"
You DO NOT need to lose fat to build muscle. Do not listen to this person…they have no idea…
Think of your body as a car. A big muscle 300lb guy is a "hummer" whatever he does he requires alot of food (gas for the hummer). He needs alot of it to keep that massive body going. The more muscle you have, the more fuel your going to need. Especially when your doing a hard workout, your muscles are burning at full force.
You CAN build muscle to burn fat. Although YOU DO need to watch what you eat, lean meats, good carbs, good fats…(fats and carbs wont make you fat, dont get sucked into that)
But as basic as it gets, if you want to lose fat, burn more calories than you take it…
